Throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, we provide effluent, sediment, and soil toxicity testing services in our accredited facility located in Williston, Vermont. In addition, we support dredged material suitability assessments, stream surveys (electrofishing), and the Great Lakes Fish Monitoring & Surveillance Program (GLFMSP). Established in 2016 by John Williams and formerly known as Aquatec Biological Sciences, Inc., we have been in the industry for decades and have mastered our laboratory testing expertise.

John Williams, B.S. (with Master's courses)

Laboratory Director & Analyst

John has worked with Aquatec since 1990 and became the owner of the company in 2016. John is an outdoor enthusiast! He teaches ski lessons in the winter and bikes in the summer… and winter too! He is past President and on the working Board of Directors for the North Atlantic Chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology & Chemistry (NAC-SETAC).

Eleanor Bouffard, B.S. (with Master's courses)

Operations Manager, Quality Assurance Officer & Analyst

After a career in Monoclonal Antibody R&D, Ellie switched gears in 2017 to become Aquatec's Operations Manager. Like many of the employees, she likes the outdoors and enjoys running, hiking and cross country skiing.

Kaitlyn Priest, B.S. 

Data Manager & Analyst; Project Director for Great Lakes Program

Katie has worked with Aquatec since 2004. If something isn't working Katie can fix it! She enjoys baking creative cakes, paddle boarding, and spending time with her family.

Ryan Almeida, B.S.

Toxicity Laboratory Manager & Laboratory Analyst

Ryan graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 2024 and moved up to Vermont to work at Aquatec. You can find him golfing and camping in the summer, and snowboarding in the winter.

Grace Saunders, B.S.

Laboratory Analyst & Great Lakes Program Assistant

Grace graduated from Saint Michael's College and started at Aquatec shortly thereafter! She is passionate about nature and environmental science, spending her free time mountain biking, skiing, and hiking. She is also on the Board of Directors of the North Atlantic Chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology & Chemistry (NAC-SETAC).

Thomas Bouffard, B.S.

Laboratory Assistant & Non-Technical Cleaning

Thomas works part time here at Aquatec and has since 2016. He is a 4 player chess champion. In his free time he likes to design games, play Magic The Gathering, and hang out at the lake.

Sarah Newton, B.S.

Laboratory Analyst

Sarah graduated from Saint Mike’s College and started at Aquatec in 2025. Sarah grows houseplants and is a dedicated animal mom to a snake, cherry shrimp, and many fish. She enjoys spending time in nature and crafting in every way possible.
